The Hampton Terrace Community Association is partnering with Metropolitan Ministries this year for a month long holiday food & toy drive! Metropolitan Ministries mission is to care for the homeless and those at risk of becoming homeless in our community through services that alleviate suffering, promote dignity and instill self-sufficiency.
We will be accepting non perishable food items as well as toys for ages 0-17 starting today through December 20th!
You can drop items off in the blue barrels at one of the three locations below:
-
Xtreme Tacos
-
Hampton Station
-
1226 E Powhatan Ave (On Porch)
Their greatest food needs are: Yams, cereal, stuffing, and cranberry sauce. Additional food needs: Canned beans, soup, bags or boxed rice, boxed/canned potatoes, packets of gravy, and dessert mixes.
Their greatest toy needs are: Teens with a focus on Ages 10-12, but there are needs for all ages!
The HTCA will also be purchasing frozen turkeys to drop off at their tents (since these cannot be collected in the barrels), so if you would like to donate towards that, you can do so at this link to the right.
Thank you for helping to support our community!
